Whatever horror may bring, we must continue to sing. We must continue to dance, joke, laugh, enjoy spring. We must never budge, must never smudge our sense of freedom with the idea of fear.
We must never succumb to this ill-conceived worldview some try to propagate where love suddenly does not trump hatred anymore, where there are sides and no matter which one you choose you’ll be the sworn enemy of the other. A world in which there is no escape, in which humanity has lost its place to be replaced by petty differences, expressed in real harm.
What we must choose is life. This life. Our life.
Blood needs to run through veins, not down streets in major cities!
Whoever decided that one life is not enough? That one must take others’ lives too and then still wish for an afterlife? Isn’t that greedier than all the greed you pretend to fight?
Whatever horror may bring, we must continue to sing. We must continue to dance, joke, laugh, enjoy spring.
Freedom will reign, I’m sure – even on Tripoli’s shore, if we remember to sing: life is lived for people, not ideas; life is lived in optimism, not in fear.
So whatever horror may bring, let freedom ring, ring, ring, ring!
